Na Hang Lake is located in the center of Na Hang District, more than 100 kilometers from Tuyen Quang City to the north. With more than 8,000 hectares of water surface, the lake is surrounded by poetic and majestic landscapes, making it an attractive tourist attraction for visitors from both home and abroad.

Na Hang Lake is the confluence of the Gam and Nang rivers. The meeting venue of the two rivers is Pac Ta mountain, the highest mountain in the district. At the foot of the mountain stands Pac Ta temple, which worships a concubine of General Tran Nhat Duat from the 13th century.

Na Hang in the Tay ethnic language means "last field" where there are green rice fields interspersed with limestone mountains. Tourists will have a chance to a diverse ecosystem with rare flora and fauna (more than 40 species of mammals, 70 species of birds, reptiles, and rare plants). They also should not miss experiencing a cruise on the vast Na Hang Lake to immerse themselves in the vast nature of rivers, endless mountains, and forests. Looking out into the distance, they will get lost in the majestic space of Na Hang.

Travelers who love adventurous experiences can trek to Mo, Cay Dai, and Cay Sung waterfalls, which are inside the Na Hang Natural Reserve. Lying amid a remote jungle along the banks of the Gam and Nang rivers, the reserve is renowned for its magnificent caves and a diverse ecosystem with many endangered flora and fauna species.

One of the most spectacular waterfalls in the area is Khuoi Nhi, which is akin to white silk across the cliff as seen from afar.

Legend has it that Khuoi Nhi waterfall is traced to the story of a young couple who loved each other but could not be together. When they were separated, the lady looked for the young man but could not find him. She was so desperate that she turned into a waterfall.

When it is seen from above, the waterfall looks like a young woman's hair falling on the surface of a calm lake. This is one of the most attractive destinations at the Na Hang-Lam Binh tourist complex for tourists to discover in their journeys.

There are also many other fascinating spots to visit, including Khuay Sung and Khuay Me waterfalls, Phia Vai Cave, and Xa Ta Mountain.

Around Na Hang Lake is also inhabited by highland ethnic groups such as Mong, Tay, Dao … and each of them has its unique customs and habits carrying distinct cultural identity.

Tourists can enjoy the unique and famous cuisine of Tuyen Quang, such as sticky rice cakes filled with ant eggs, black pork, Soi Lam glutinous corn, goby salad, and fish sauce.

One of the most delicious traditional foods in Tuyen Quang is Suoi Khoang Chinese sausage. The main ingredient used to make Suoi Khoang Chinese Sausage is black pork. After processing into sausages, it is dried in the sun and hung in the kitchen attic. This unique sausage-making method allows for preservation throughout the year. Aside from providing long-term food storage, this method also adds a special flavor to the dishes.

Besides what to eat in Tuyen Quang, people also look for another special thing in Tuyen Quang cuisine – Corn wine. Na Hang corn wine is unique not only because of its sweet corn but also because of its special leavening formula using forest leaves. It is made from more than 20 precious herbs that can heal wounds, rheumatism, and other ailments. Just a sip of Na Hang corn wine can spread a cool feeling throughout the body.

Although Na Hang is a mountainous district in the northeast of Vietnam, it is still convenient to travel by private transfer from Hanoi. The other attractive sites that can be conveniently combined with the trip to Na Hang Lake are Ba Be Lake - the largest natural freshwater lake in Vietnam and Bac Me – a rural district in the east of Ha Giang.
