VND 200 million donated to Operation Smile Vietnam by Lotte Mart
(VNF) – Lotte Mart recently handed VND 200 million to Operation Smile Vietnam, to help the organization provide more free surgeries to needy kids.

The sponsorship handover ceremony was held on July 27 in HCMC, marking the 4th sponsorship campaign by Lotte Mart for Operation Smile Vietnam, with the purpose of bringing the smiles and confidence to Vietnamse kids suffering from cleft lips/palate.
The cash sponsored by Lotte Mart will be used to provide free-of-charge surgeries for 20 kids this September at HCMC Medical University, each costs VND 7 million.

A cleft is an opening in the lip, the roof of the mouth or the soft tissue in the back of the mouth. A cleft lip may be accompanied by an opening in the bones of the upper jaw and/or the upper gum.
A cleft palate occurs when the two sides of a palate do not join together, resulting in an opening in the roof of the mouth. A cleft lip and palate can occur on one side or both sides. A child can suffer from a cleft lip, a cleft palate or both.
