VUFO President Nguyen Phuong Nga Extends New Year Greetings

Looking back at the Year of the Tiger - 2022, we are excited that with a strong determination to renew both thinking and action, the whole VUFO system, from the central to local levels, has united to overcome unprecedented difficulties, synchronously and comprehensively deploy tasks in all fields, including activities for peace, solidarity, and friendship; relations and advocacy with foreign non-governmental organizations; research and recommendation, external information, overseas Vietnamese work and organization building and development. With hundreds of activities containing profound contents and diverse forms, on both bilateral and multilateral levels, the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations has well accomplished most of the set goals, contributing to strengthening the friendship, bringing more depth and effectiveness into cooperation between the Vietnamese and peoples of other countries, which suits its role as a core force in people-to-people diplomacy.

On behalf of the Presidium of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations, I would like to thank all members of the VUFO system and friends and international partners for their great effort and valuable contribution to the achievements of people-to-people diplomacy in the past year.

Entering 2023, the pivotal year to implement the 13th Party Congress resolution, the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations has identified its key task as "people-to-people diplomacy serves socio-economic development." Promoting the achieved good results, adhering to the motto "proactive, flexible, creative and effective", the whole VUFO system will actively carry out people-to-people diplomacy activities closely attached to the country's development goals, bringing more depth and substantiveness into the friendship relations with peoples of other countries, effectively contributing to the country's socio-economic development. I believe that all members of the VUFO system will be united, determined to overcome all difficulties and challenges, strive to successfully complete the tasks, well perform the role of a pillar of Vietnam's comprehensive and modern foreign policy, join hands with the Party, people and army to firmly defend and build a strong, prosperous, and happy Vietnam, making positive contributions to the consolidation of peace and friendship among peoples.

In the joyful atmosphere of the new spring, I wish all VUFO staff working in people-to-people diplomacy, international friends of Vietnam, and VietnamTimes readers a new year of cat full of faith, hope, peace, good health, happiness and success!
