Wild sunflower season in Dalat
(VNF) - Da Quy flower (wild sunflower) is the signal for dry season of beautiful Dalat plateau. Many people think that Dalat has four seasons but in fact, like the typical climate type of the Central Highland, there are only two seasons in Dalat: dry and rainny.
The rainy season often lasts from April to October; the weather in this season is warm but rather cold in the evening because of high altitude.

When the dry season comes, Dalat seems to “wear a new shirt”. The whole city is overwhelmed with bright color of various kinds of flowers. Besides the splendid flowers, Dalat is also the heaven of wild flowers of which “da quy” (wild sunflower or tithonia persifolia) is the most remarkable.
“Da quy” enters its blooming season in October and makes the beauty of Dalat unique. Its yellow color helps dispel the coldness of a mountainous town and is appealing to tourists.
Along the way from Bao Loc to Dalat and in some countryside streets like Lien Khuong, Trai Mat-Cau Dat, D’ran – Dalat, travelers can see immense hills and mountains covered by wild sunflowers and mingled with the green color of pine trees.

Moreover, people can find the Valley of Love, the Golden Valley and Van Thanh flower village as ideal places to capture beautiful shots of da quy.
Some other popular sightseeing spots, including the tunnel of architecture – clay structure featuring the unique features of Dalat; Dambri Waterfall, Thai Phien and Van Thanh flower villages, among others. When night falls, tourists should not miss a visit to Dalat night market to enjoy some mouth-watering dishes like chicken porridge, well-prepared snails, barbecued food and grilled paper cake, soya milk and hot tofu served with stewed ginger sugar syrup.
