Work on Vinmec Hospital started in Hai Phong

A groundbreaking ceremony was held in Hai Phong city on October 18th for the Vinmec Hai Phong international general hospital, the sixth hospital under Vingroup’s Vinmec healthcare system nationwide, after those in Hanoi, Ha Long, Phu Quoc, Nha Trang and Ho Chi Minh City, Nhan dan newspaper reported.

Work on Vinmec Hospital started in Hai Phong

The hospital will be built at total cost of approximately VND2 trillion (USD90 million) on an area of 40,000 square metres in Le Chan district.

With 14 specialised faculties, a staff of high-qualified doctors along with a system of modern machines and state of the art services, Vinmec Hai Phong is expected to become a high-quality healthcare institution meeting the needs of local citizens and visitors to the province.

The hospital will accommodate 400 beds capable of handling 200,000 arrivals of out-patients annually. The first phase of 200 beds is scheduled to be put into operation in 2017.

According to Vingroup Vice President Nguyen Viet Quang, Vinmec Hai Phong will gather high-qualified doctors from Hanoi, Hai Phong and Quang Ninh, among others, while outlining plans for co-operation, technical transfer and the exchange of experts with other advanced countries in medicine including Singapore, France, Japan and the US.

Hai Phong is currently confronted with numerous development opportunities. The city has been proving itself an attractive destination for investors both at home and abroad, with an array of important infrastructure projects under implementation such as the Hanoi-Hai Phong Expressway, the Hai Phong International Gateway Port and the Cat Bi International Airport, according to Nhan dan newspaper.
