At the meeting at VUFO’s headquarters in Hanoi on August 7th.

Mr. Iraklis said the purpose of the visit was to discuss the necessary preparation and planning for the WPC’s Executive Committee Conference and the 100th anniversary of the Russian October Revolution in Vietnam in November.

At its recent Congress in Brazil in November 2016, the committees asked the VPC to host the Steering Committee Meeting and the 100th anniversary of the Russian October Revolution in November, 2017. This is the first Executive Committee meeting after the WPC’s Congress and the Council’s proposal to celebrate the Russian October Revolution on this occasion is very meaningful.

According to Mr. Iraklis, in a meeting with VPC on August 7th, the two sides agreed to hold the three-day conference of the WPC’s Executive Committee in Hanoi from November 23rd to 25th. The conference, co-chaired by the WPC and VPC, will be attended by international friends, leaders and members of WPC Executive Committee and Vietnamese delegates included VPC members and representatives of local peace committees.

He hopes that the VPC, VUFO, relevant ministries, agencies and the Vietnam’s Government would support and assist WPC in the preparation of the conference.
