The project to build the library at Phu Loc kindergarten aims to create safe space for learning and fun for children, helping establish the reading skill and habit at young age.

After three months of implementation, up to now the library has been completed and put into use, serving 300 children of Hung Loc kindergarten. The library is pided into different parts such as folk corner, reading corner, intellectual science corner and creative corner. Through the participation of children in this library, the project aims to raise the awareness of parents, families and communities about the needs and rights of children.

The total cost is VND 140 million (USD 6,160), in which Zhishan sponsored nearly VND 100 million (USD 4,400).

Children use the library to practice art performance.

"While rural areas lack a safe and healthy playground for children, the library is a means to offset the material and social disadvantage and support early childhood learning," said Hoang Trong Thuy, representative of the Zhishan Foundation Office in Vietnam.

Zhishan Foundation, began in 1995, is one of Taiwan’s most successful NGOs engaged in long term humanitarian international aid and development work. The Foundation has been carrying out many projects to support education, health care and long-term assistant for over 33,000 disadvantaged children in the Central Region./.
