102nd National Day (Great Union) of Romania marked in Hanoi
The Vietnam-Romania Friendship Association under the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO) just held a gather in Hanoi to mark the 70th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two nations, and the 102nd National Day (Great Union) of Romania (December 1).

The traditional friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Romania have been fostered continuously over the past years, and the bilateral relationship has seen progress in all spheres, said President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO) Nguyen Phuong Nga. |
Nga highlighted relations between people and localities of the two countries, saying apart from the bilateral cooperation, Vietnam and Romania have coordinated and supported each other at multilateral organisations and forums, and joined efforts to address global issues. |
Nga expressed her belief in a bright outlook of the time-honored friendship as well as extensive and intensive cooperation between Vietnam and Romania in the time ahead. |
Highlighting the diverse and effective cooperation between the two countries, Tong Van Nga, President of the Vietnam-Romania Friendship Association, highlighted the Romanian people’s wholehearted support and assistance for Vietnam’s struggle for national reunification in the past and development at present. |
The sound friendship and traditional cooperation between the two countries in the past seven decades, with collaboration having unceasingly been deepened across the fields of political dialogue, foreign affairs, security and defence, trade, agriculture and industry, labour and tourism, education and training. |
Vietnam and Romania have witnessed significant developments in their relations, illustrated through the official visits of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc in 2019 and former Romanian Prime Minister Dacian Jullien Ciolos in 2016, many high-level visits in 2018 and 2019, and the first ministerial meeting of the Vietnam – Romania Joint Committee on Economic Cooperation in Bucharest last year. President of the Vietnam-Romania Friendship Association briefed participants on the operation of the association that has mobilised more than 500 million VND (21,600 USD) to aid Romania’s COVID-19 combat. |
Petrescu Razvan Victor Radu, Consul General of the Romanian Embassy in Vietnam, conveyed the message of Mihaela Rutjens, Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy, in which he thanked members of the association for their efforts in promoting the bilateral relationship over the past time. |
