2022: A Special Year for Vietnamese in Korea

What has the Vietnamese community in Korea done to overcome the difficulties of the Covid-19 pandemic over the past two years?
Over the past two years, the Covid-19 pandemic has greatly affected the life, study and activities of the Vietnamese community in Korea. However, in difficulties, overseas Vietnamese have always supported each other.
The Vietnamese Association in Korea always listens to people's thoughts and aspirations so that we can make recommendations to the Vietnamese Embassy in Korea to have timely support.
In 2021, we have implemented meaningful and practical activities, including three major programs: the program to provide medical masks with the Vietnamese community in Korea, "Homeland Spring 2022" presents Tet gifts to people in Korea before the Lunar New Year, and the program of the milk brand Hikid - Korea for children aged 1-9, whose mothers are Vietnamese.
The Association will continue to make efforts to have more practical activities, contributing to the cohesion of the great national unity bloc in the Vietnamese community.
2022 is the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, what outstanding activities will the Association have?
2022 is a special year with an important milestone in the diplomatic relationship between the two countries. Therefore, from the end of 2021, we have made preparations for practical activities.
On April 6, the Vietnamese Association in Korea signed a memorandum of understanding with the Korea-Vietnam Fashion Festival Awards (KVFFA).
The two sides coordinated to organize activities to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Korea. The activities were attended by leaders of the Government, ministries, the Korean Embassy and the Vietnamese Embassy, Korean organizations.
The fields of cooperation between the two sides are diverse such as culture, art, beauty and media (drama, film, documentary, television entertainment). There are also events to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Korea, foster talents for the Vietnamese community.
We will coordinate to carry out specific activities to strengthen the relationship between the two countries, between the organizations of the Association and Korea.
We will also enhance opportunities for investment, trade and tourism cooperation between Vietnamese provinces, cities and Korean businesses.
The Association introduced the beauty, potential, and opportunities for investment, trade and tourism cooperation in Vietnam to agencies, organizations, investors at home and abroad.

Is the Association carrying out a fundraising campaign for the homeland's sea and islands?
Over the years, the Vietnamese Association in Korea has always organized donations. We sent representatives to join the overseas Vietnamese delegation to visit Truong Sa (Spratly).
In 2022, we will continue to call for donations and send them to the soldiers in the remote islands.
What plan does the Association have to attract overseas Vietnamese resources to develop the country, as well as effectively implement Conclusion 12 of the Politburo on overseas Vietnamese work in the new situation?
The Vietnamese Association in Korea has conducted activities and programs to visit multicultural families with extremely difficult circumstances.
We call for community donations for three cases of sick children hospitalized in Vietnam.
We have contributed to building a strong national unity bloc in the overseas Vietnamese community and the Vietnamese community in Korea particularly.
To attract overseas Vietnamese to invest and contribute to the country, the Association is reviewing and discussing to have proposals with the Vietnamese Embassy in Korea, the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs. This is to have activities and preferential policies to attract overseas Vietnamese resources, especially intellectuals, to contribute to the country.
