(VNF) –The Haemodialysis Care Project, a joint project between the Tan Tock Seng Hospital (Singapore) and the Hanoi Medical University (HMU) was kick started in Hanoi on January 22.

5,000 kidney patients to be benefited from Singapore-Vietnam joint medical project

The launch of the tripartite collaboration was officiated by Chairman of the Singapore International Foundation (SIF), Ambassador Ong Keng Yong, and Rector of of HMU, Associate Professor Nguyen Duc Hinh.

The two-and-a-half-year training project will see a specialist team of the Singapore International Volunteers (SIV) comprising doctors and nurses from Tan Tock Seng (TTSH) hospital, joining hands with their Vietnamese counterparts to enhance the standards of haemodialysis care for over 5,000 kidney patients in the region, for long-term sustainability.

The project aims to build a core group of master trainers for Vietnam (source: SIF)

The Singaporean partners will share their experience, knowledge and skills with their Vietnamese counterparts, who will form a core group of master trainers.

The group will in turn train other Vietnamese healthcare professionals in this field, building professional capacity to benefit the wider healthcare community in the region.
