The support and participation of organizations and communities in the "Run for Children" over the years have shown the noble gesture of the people of Hanoi and international friends to build a compassionate society. This is a testament to the kindness and friendship between international friends and the Vietnamese people.

The organizing committee hopes that this year "Run for Hanoi Children" with the new name "International Friendship Run for Children" will continue to attract many participants next December, thereby enhancing the responsibility of social responsibility and public awareness of health care in general and prevention of cancer and cardiovascular disease in particular.

First established in 2000 under the name Terry Fox Run, the event’s name was later changed to the “Hanoi Run for Children” and was held from 2009 to 2019.

Over the past 5 years, this activity has successfully raised more than VND 5 billion (USD 201.000) in donations, and since 2009 has supported treatment for more than 281 children with congenital heart defects and 131 pediatric cancer patients at the Vietnam National Hospital of Pediatrics, Hanoi Heart Hospital, and VinaCapital Foundation’s Heartbeat Vietnam program.

This year, "Hanoi Run for Children" will return with a new name "International Friendship Run for Children" which will take place Sunday morning on December 11, at Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square, Hoan Kiem Lake Walking Street, Hanoi with the purpose of raising funds to support the treatment of disadvantaged children with cancer and congenital heart defects at the Vietnam National Hospital of Pediatrics, Hanoi Heart Hospital, and VinaCapital Foundation’s Heartbeat Vietnam program.

The organizing committee hopes that the "International Friendship Run for Children 2022" will spread the noble cause of this activity, hence promoting compassion amongst all participants and instilling faith in a brighter future for disadvantaged children and their families.

More than 5,000 people are expected to attend this year's event, alongside dedicated partners and sponsors such as VinaCapital, Manulife Vietnam, and Exness Financial Transaction Company.
