70th National Day marked in Germany
A ceremony to mark the 70th National Day of Vietnam and the 40th anniversary of Vietnam – Germany diplomatic establishment was organized by the Vietnamese Embassy in Germany at Maritime hotel, Berlin on September 14th.
At the ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to Germany Nguyen Thi Hoang Anh thanked the Government and people of Germany for their help and support for Vietnam during the former struggles and the national construction and development process today.
Right after the peace was restored in Vietnam in 1975, Vietnam and Germany established diplomatic relations and the relationship has been stepped up to new heights by the Hanoi Joint Statement in 2011 on the occasion of the visit to Vietnam by German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
The overseas Vietnamese community of more than 120,000 people in Germany ise becoming more happy. They regard Germany as their second homeland and Germany and German citizens consider the coherence of Vietnamese people to the country as a model of deep integration while retaining cultural identity, enriching the local culture of Germany.
Ambassador Nguyen Thi Hoang Anh also thanked Germany, where she has attached for over three decades, and her German and Vietnamese colleagues, friends, partners and the overseas Vietnamese community for support her and the embassy to complete the tasks when she is going to complete her tenure.
Ms. Sabine Sparwasser, from Germany’s Foreign Ministry, appreciated Vietnam's socio-economic achievements and the Vietnam-Germany relations. She thanked Ambassador Nguyen Thi Hoang Anh, who has attached and actively contributed to boost the bilateral relations.
At the ceremony, the delegates also enjoyed an art program performed by artists from Ho Chi Minh city./.
