ASEAN and Vietnamese Culture Introduced to Greek Friends
On March 25-26, as the Chairman of the ASEAN Committee in Athens (ACAT), the Vietnamese Embassy in Greece coordinated with the Friend of the Child charity organization to host the ASEAN Plus Bazaar at the capital Athens.

The fair gathered exhibition booths from Embassies of 5 ASEAN members in Greece including Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Malaysia and two ASEAN+ countries including Japan and China.
This is Vietnam's initiative under the ACAT Chairmanship and the first joint economic diplomatic activity of ASEAN+ countries in Greece to introduce products and promote culture, tourism and cuisine to local people and international friends. In addition, the fair also aims to raise money for charity for the Greek child protection organization.
At the fair, typical products from many countries were displayed. Unique cultural performances of ASEAN countries such as the Indonesian horse dance, Philippine pole dance, Vietnamese hat dance and the Thai umbrella dance were also included in the program.

Visitors not only had the opportunity to buy goods, and learn about the cultures of other countries, but also immersed themselves in the fun, exciting and unique cultural performances.
The fair received strong support from the Greek government. The President of the Attica Regional Council (including the central Athens districts), the Director General of the Regional Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Greece attended and delivered speeches at the opening ceremony.
It was also attended by representatives of other ministries and sectors such as the Greek Ministry of Tourism, the President's Office and several other embassies...
The Greek Alpha TV channel and Philippine foreign television also came to cover the event.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to Greece Le Hong Truong emphasized that the first ASEAN Plus Bazaar in Greece was held at a time when the host country and all ASEAN members are aiming to promote two-way trade, enhance exchanges, with all policies aimed at people and businesses, in order to create maximum conditions for the development and prosperity of businesses.
In collaboration with An Phat and Vietnam Spirit company, the exhibition booth of the Vietnamese Embassy in Greece displayed and introduced many clean agricultural products which support health improvement such as dried fruits, local cakes or jams, tea for people with blood lipid, coffee, silk, garments... The booth also promotes, provides information, and answers inquiries about culture, tourism and economic development of Vietnam.

Many visitors to the fair came the booth to try Vietnamese products and to learn about tourism and culture. Right after the fair, a cooperation agreement between An Phat Healthy Way and Vietnam Spirit was signed to export clean agricultural products to Greece.
Visitors were said to consider the ASEAN Plus Bazaar as a great success, creating a buzz in the diplomatic community and leaving a good impression on the Greek people.
