Association of Vietnamese Entrepreneurs in Italy - Bridge to Connect Businesses

Vietnam Embassy to Italy held an online new year meeting with representatives of the Association of Vietnamese Entrepreneurs in Italy (ASSOEVI) to exchange ideas on how to strengthen the trade cooperation between Vietnam and Italy on January 15, according to VNA.
At the event, Vietnam Ambassador to Italy Nguyen Thi Bich Hue reviewed the activities and contributions of the Vietnamese community in Italy in 2021, such as mobilizing the local government to support Vietnam with Covid-19 vaccines, drugs and medical equipment, charity activities for children in Vietnam, teaching Vietnamese and supporting Italian and Vietnamese enterprises.
Ambassador Hue said she hoped the Vietnamese people and organizations as ASSOEVI would continue to hold activities and contribute to the homeland.
She said although 2021 saw the pandemic range over the world, the two-way trade turnover between Vietnam and Italy still reached US$5.6 billion, of which Vietnam's exports to Italy reached US$3.8 billion USD, seeing an increase of 22% compared to last year and import turnover reached US$1.8 billion, an increase of 19%, thanks to the Vietnam-EU Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA).
Seafood, agricultural products, especially pepper, and handicrafts saw the highest export turnover.

Representative of the ASSOEVI, Pham Van Hong said the association, whose duty was bringing business opportunities and acting as a bridge to connect Vietnam and Italy, must work with higher efficiency to lay a solid foundation for future development for the two countries' trade cooperation.
Participants at the meeting discussed enhancing ASSOEVI's role in connecting businesses of the two countries.
ASSOEVI was established in June 2021 to unite and improve the capacity of its members, which are entrepreneurs, creating an environment for cooperation and information exchange between Vietnamese and Italian businesses.
The association supports its members in investment, production, business, trade and service activities in Italy. Besides, it contributes to the promotion and introduction of Vietnamese goods and services in Italy and strengthens economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.
Since its establishment, ASSOEVI has constantly expanded, attracting many new members, including Italian ones. The association strengthens exchanges with Italian organizations and businesses, Vietnamese business associations in other European countries.
It provides information regarding market demand for enterprises of the two countries to benefit their cooperation.
