Australian Culinary and Education Promotion Program Takes Place in Can Tho
As part of activities in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Vietnam - Australia diplomatic ties, Australian education, and cuisine were introduced to the people of Can Tho on September 18 to further promote bilateral connections.

The program was held by the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) and the Australian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City. It is an initiative of Austrade to introduce the country’s potential and strengths in education - training, and cuisine to key economic regions of Vietnam.

In her speech, Rebecca Ball, Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner of Australia, said that through common efforts and commitments, both countries will obtain more achievements in trade and further reinforce friendship. Vietnam is a leading exporter of coffee, rice, cashew nuts, peppercorns, and seafood. Meanwhile, Australia is famous for fruits, milk, wine, meat, and high-end seafood. The two countries' export products complement each other and benefit the two peoples.

The program includes two sessions: Education and Agriculture. The Education session showcases Australian education and training expertise and student aid programs. It also provides opportunities to meet and cooperate with Vietnamese educational organizations in enrollment and training cooperation through direct connection sessions with representatives of 25 leading schools and training facilities in Australia.

The Agriculture and Food Session showcases premium Australian products including dairy, seafood, packaged products, fresh fruit and vegetables, meat, and wine. At this session, Vietnamese and Australian businesses learn about trade growth opportunities, find suitable partners, and provide information about the capabilities and quality of their products.
