Performed by dancers from Capitole Theatre, the programme marks the 20th anniversary of Hanoi –Toulouse relations.
The performance took Hanoian audiences on a journey to discover French ballet through many famous plays such as Giselle (Act I: Valse – Pas quatre de vendanges) and Le Grand Pas of Paquita.
In addition, the event drew the participation of Vietnamese artists from the Hanoi College of Art, who presented traditional Vietnamese performances. The two art troupes performed together to the tune of “Beautiful Vietnam.”
Speaking at the event, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi City People’s Committee Ngo Van Quy said over the past twenty years, Toulouse has assisted Hanoi with major projects, including the preservation and maintenance of Hanoi’s Old Quarter, urban planning and management, and cultural and art exchanges.
The two governments have hailed Hanoi–Toulouse ties as an effective co-operation model, he said, adding that his city wished to continue receiving assistance from France./.
