Ban Co Peak – Home to Fantastical Legends
Ban Co Peak is located on Son Tra peninsula, Da Nang at an altitude of nearly 700m above sea level. After crossing a long path to reach the top, tourists will be able to immerse themselves in the vast sky and a panoramic view of the land.
There are many different stories about the origin of Ban Co Peak, and the most popular one is still mentioned nowadays. Once upon a time, there was an old fairy who came across Son Tra. Realizing the beauty of this land, he sat down on a large and flat rock to enjoy the scenery. While sightseeing, he created a Chinese chess board on the rock.

By chance, a master chess fairy named De Thich passed by and challenged him to a match. After many days, the two fairies were still evenly matched, and neither could gain the upper hand.
One day, a group of beautiful goddesses appeared on a beach near Son Tra Island, later known as Tien Sa Beach. De Thich was distracted by the playful sounds of the goddesses and made a wrong move, ultimately losing the game. After the other fairy flew back to heaven in joy, De Thich remained at the peak, determined to find a way to unravel the chess game.
