Belarus, Vietnam Share "Unforgettable Memories"

With more than 250 documents and images reflecting the 'Great Patriotic War'; 'revival of Belarus'; 'Vietnam - Belarus cooperation to develop mutually', the exhibition "Nothing is Forgotten" contributed to tightening the friendship between the two countries.

Ambassador of Belarus to Vietnam Uladzimir Baravikou opened a photo exhibition themed "Nothing is Forgotten" at the Military History Museum of Vietnam, timed to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from Nazi invaders, on July 2, on the eve of the Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus (July 3).

The event was organized under a joint project with participation of the Museum of the Great Patriotic War in Minsk, was attended by representatives of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Ministry of National Defense, other state administration bodies, military museums and educational institutions of Hanoi, and mass media.

In his welcoming speech, Ambassador Uladzimir Baravikou emphasized the importance of preserving the historical memory and truth about the Great Patriotic War, the feat of the Belarusian and the entire Soviet people, the very costly victory that was won at the expense of huge economic losses and lives of one third of the Belarusian population.

Attention was drawn to the contribution of the country and personally of President of Belarus Aleksandr Grigoryevich Lukashenko to ensuring peace and security on the regional and global scale. The importance of further development of Belarus-Vietnam mutually beneficial relations on the basis of traditional friendship, trust and mutual understanding was highlighted.

Director of the Vietnam Military History Museum Le Vu Huy presented the main elements of the photo exhibition, which tells about the cruelty and atrocities of fascists against civilians, the courage and heroism of the Red Army soldiers shown during the liberation of the Belarusian land, the successful revival and restoration of the country in the post-war period, the high-level and active dynamics of Vietnam-Belarus cooperation.

This is also one of the cooperative activities between the Vietnam Military History Museum and the Belarus Museum of the Great Patriotic War to celebrate the the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders and the 80th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army.

The exhibition is open to visitors until the end of July 2024 at the Military History Museum, 28A Dien Bien Phu, Ba Dinh, Hanoi.
