Brand Finance valued Viettel brand at nearly USD1 billion

With growth of 68% over last year, it has improved its position from 17th to 7th. It is also valued at nearly USD1 billion.

According to the report, Viettel is also named among the 5 Best Performance Brands in ASEAN, ranked at 3rd, and in the Top 100 Most Valuable Global Telecom Brands 2016 (ranked 93rd, comparing to 126th in 2015).

The Viettel subsidiary in Laos, Unitel, was ranked among the Best Performing Brands in ASEAN, with the strongest growth in brand value of 106%, to reach value of USD123 million.

This year, the 5 Best Performing Brands for value increase are mainly from the Philippines, Vietnam and Myanmar, showing that ASEAN will be a more competitive playing field very soon.

Telkom Indonesia leads the ASEAN contingent in the Telecom 500, coming in at a rank of 48 with a value of USD2.62 billion. It is followed by Singapore’s Singtel with USD2.417 billion, ranked 51st globally.

Last year, Viettel generated revenue of USD10.8 billion and profit of USD2.12 billion. It was also awarded as the 8th Vietnam Best Place to Work in 2015, according to the survey by Anphabe, the career network of management professionals in Vietnam, and global market research firm Nielsen./.
