The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), the American Chamber of Commerce in Hanoi (AmCham), and the US Chamber of Commerce in Washington hosted the 6th US - Vietnam Business Summit on October 31 in Hanoi, both in-person and virtually. |
"The summit demonstrates how we can create an enabling environment that attracts additional investment and drives innovation and sustainable growth here," said Pham Tan Cong.
This year's Business Summit focused on Vietnam's priorities of removing bottlenecks in resource mobilization, production, and business; addressing energy development needs, and accelerating the transition to clean and renewable energy.
Another key discussion point is ensuring access, affordability, and innovation in industries like healthcare, the digital economy, and the semiconductor industry.
Commenting on the success of the business summit, US Chamber of Commerce Executive Director for Southeast Asia John Goyer mentioned some of the recent history-making events such as US President Joe Biden's recent visit to Vietnam and the upgrading of the bilateral relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
"We now are seeing a true sense of momentum in the US - Vietnam economic relationship. It is incumbent upon the business communities of both countries to capitalize on this momentum to unlock higher levels of two-way trade and investment while working with both governments to break down the challenges and obstacles standing in the way," said John Goyer.
