Charity gala in Moscow raises money for Children’s Heart Foundation
A charity music performance was held on July 22nd in Moscow to raise funds for the Children’s Heart Foundation (CHF).
All proceedings (US$39,000) will be sent to the CHF to conduct free heart surgeries for disadvantaged children at home, said the organizers.
Many Vietnamese people attended the charity performance to listen to their favourite artists and to make their contribution to the charity program.
Vietnamese Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Son said that many Vietnamese expats living in Moscow and elsewhere have actively taken part in charity fundraisings. It demonstrates the Vietnamese saying; ‘When drinking water, remember its sources."
Nguyen Lan Hieu, vice director of the Hanoi Medical University Hospital, who received the donation to send to the CHF, said the event was of great significance as it inspires domestic benefactors to further support disadvantaged children suffering from heart failure in remote and mountainous areas.
Hieu said he will go to the northern mountainous province of Dien Bien next week to provide free heart surgeries for the local children.
