From June 24-27, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh went on a business trip to attend the 15th Annual Pioneers Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Dalian.

Affirming Vietnam's role in the world economy

Ambassador Xiong Bo said that Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's participation in the 15th Annual Pioneers Meeting of the World Economic Forum shows the respect of the Chinese Government and the WEF for Vietnam, proving Vietnam's role and influence on the world economy.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh also gave an important speech to more than 1,700 international guests from more than 100 countries and territories in the fields of politics, economics, and trade.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh introduced Vietnam's development achievements in a comprehensive way, including accomplishments in terms of development, socio-economic promotion and innovation as well as development planning in the coming time. He welcomes businesses from other countries to invest and do business in Vietnam.

In his speech, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh also appreciated China's development achievements, especially China's role in global economic growth.

This reflects the common vision of Vietnam and China on a number of global issues. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's speech was welcomed by the participating countries.

Ambassador Xiong Bo said that China appreciated the achievements that the Vietnamese people have made in recent times, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam headed by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

Vietnam has overcome the difficulties of the Covid-19 pandemic, promoting socio-economic development. Vietnam's economy is on a positive development path.

Currently, Vietnam's economic scale is in the top 40 in the world, and Vietnam's import-export turnover is in the top 20 in the world.

The Ambassador affirmed that the above achievements and the important role of Vietnam in the regional and world economy are the reasons why Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh is one of the few foreign leaders invited to attend the WEF Annual Meeting three times.

Roadmap for cooperation in all fields

Assessing the meaning and results of meetings between Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and senior Chinese leaders, Ambassador Xiong Bo said that Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had high-level meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping and senior Chinese leaders.

According to the Ambassador, these are important strategic contacts and exchanges between senior leaders of Vietnam and China.

At the talks and meetings, senior leaders of the two sides discussed strategies in depth, and reached many important common understandings.

During the talks in Dalian between Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Chinese Premier Li Qiang, the two sides reviewed cooperation in all fields, positively assessed the achievements that Vietnam and China have gained in building the "Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future." They also outlined a comprehensive roadmap for cooperation in all fields of the two sides in the coming time.

Ambassador Xiong Bo said Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's business trip was extremely important, continuing to concretize the important common awareness of the two top leaders of the two Parties, especially the content in Joint Declarations, documents and agreements, to preserve and further promote the current positive development momentum of the two countries.

Vietnam connects Europe, Central Asia and ASEAN

Ambassador Hung Ba said that developing and connecting transport infrastructure, especially cross-border railway systems, is a priority that the leaders of Vietnam and China have reached an agreement on.

While working in China, Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the Vietnam-China cooperation conference on strategic transport infrastructure development, and the role of Vietnamese-Chinese enterprises.

According to Ambassador Xiong Bo, China attaches great importance to cooperation with Vietnam in this field, especially projects in northern Vietnam and the border areas of the two countries.

Currently, China has supported Vietnam in completing the Lao Cai-Hanoi-Hai Phong railway planning.

“I think these projects will make an important contribution to the development of Vietnam's economy,” the Ambassador commented.

According to the Ambassador, the development and connection of railway lines across the border between the two countries is extremely meaningful and strategic, demonstrating the high political trust of the two countries, further tightening the cooperative relationship between Vietnam and China in the field of supply chain and production chain.

China is currently Vietnam's largest trading partner. After enhancing connectivity and completing intermodal railway projects, Vietnam will be an important bridge connecting with European, Central Asian and ASEAN countries.
