The Can Tho City Traffic Safety Committee (TSC) and the city's Department of Education and Training have announced a joint plan to implement the National Traffic Safety Committee’s 2024 initiatives: the “Fulfilling Dreams” and “I Love Vietnam” programs. These efforts also promote adherence to legal regulations, particularly prohibiting the use of vehicles by individuals not meeting the required conditions for operating them in traffic.

Under the collaboration, activities will focus on various educational levels, especially preschool education.

These include training preschool teachers in the “I Love Vietnam” program as outlined by the National Traffic Safety Committee; organizing two thematic sessions at selected schools for kindergarten children and their parents to discuss traffic safety measures; conducting a city-level pilot program to distribute helmets to children as part of the “Fulfilling Dreams” initiative; and installing awareness-raising panels at middle schools and vocational training centers to highlight the prohibition against allowing unqualified individuals to operate vehicles.

The communication contents include: Warnings about the traffic safety and order situation; causes and consequences of traffic accidents and measures and skills to prevent traffic accidents; propaganda, guidance, and encouragement for traffic participants to use public transport vehicles; dissemination of key points of the Road Traffic Law; the Inland Waterway Traffic Law; Directive No. 23-CT/TW dated May 25, 2023, from the Central Party Secretariat on strengthening the Party's leadership in ensuring traffic safety and order in the new situation; Directive No. 10/CT-TTg dated April 19, 2023, from the Prime Minister on strengthening the work of ensuring road traffic safety and order in the new situation; Directive No. 31/CT-TTg dated December 21, 2023, from the Prime Minister on strengthening the work of ensuring traffic safety and order for school-age groups in the new situation.

For educators, public employees, workers, and volunteers of educational institutions: the initiative will provide updated knowledge on traffic safety laws and regulations, training in effective communication strategies for traffic safety, and basic first aid skills to assist traffic accident victims and minimize injuries before emergency services arrive.

Recently, the Traffic Safety Committee of Can Tho City has organized many thematic sessions on "Students and Traffic Safety".

For students, efforts will focus on raising awareness and condemning uncivil behaviors in traffic while promoting exemplary conduct and innovative traffic safety models. Students will also learn road traffic cultural standards as defined by Decision 3500/QĐ-BVHTT&DL dated October 9, 2013, identifying some road traffic signs; traffic rules, and some administrative sanctions in the field of road and inland waterway traffic; introducing and guiding some skills for participating in safe traffic by road and waterway.

The program will emphasize educating parents on common violations such as allowing unqualified individuals to drive, ignoring traffic signals, overloading vehicles, improper parking, and entering prohibited areas.

Recently, the Traffic Safety Committee of Can Tho City has organized many thematic sessions on "Students and Traffic Safety".

According to the Can Tho TSC, this initiative aims to enhance traffic safety education, particularly for preschool children aged 3-5, by engaging local stakeholders and fostering unified efforts. Specific objectives include improving traffic safety education for preschoolers, equipping students, educators, and guardians with legal knowledge, safety skills, and cultural behavior in traffic settings, and reducing traffic accidents involving youth and students.

The program also seeks to reinforce the roles of school administrators, teachers, and parents by strengthening coordination among governmental agencies, political organizations, and local authorities. This includes ensuring effective enforcement of regulations prohibiting vehicle use by unqualified operators.
