Addressing the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Trinh Thi Tam highlighted outstanding achievements that ASEAN has gained across all pillars of politics - diplomacy, economy, and socio-culture over the years, building the bloc in the complicated global context.
The Vietnamese diplomat affirmed the important role and position of ASEAN in Vietnam's foreign policy, VOV reported. In her speech, Tam mentioned the country's major contributions to consolidating a strong and united ASEAN, as well as building relationships with partners after 29 years of joining the group. Vietnam will continue implementing the initiative of organizing the annual ASEAN Future Forum, she said.
On the same day, the Vietnamese Embassy, in cooperation with other countries, organized the ASEAN Family Day with diverse activities. Participants can enjoy authentic cuisines from the ASEAN countries and take part in folk games to explore their cultures and customs.
