Another morning not recording any community cases

On the morning of September 25, Vietnam had no new cases of COVID-19. Thus, Vietnam has gone through the 23rd consecutive day of not recording new cases of COVID-19 in the community. Currently, there are 21,842 cases under quarantine and health monitoring nationwide.

The pandemic breaks in big cities have been basically controlled, but experts warn that in the coming time, Vietnam may record new cases related to the last outbreaks or entry, Suc Khoe & Doi Song cited.

All activities in the city of Da Nang will return to normal from 0 am on September 25 as the COVID-19 outbreak in the city has been under control.

According to the city authorities, service providers must commit to following pandemic prevention and control measures. The city will continue seriously following the Health Ministry’s message in order to ensure safety in the current context, which includes 5 steps: facemask, disinfection, distance, no gathering, health declaration.

Earlier on September 18, the city allowed many activities to resume, except night club, bar, pub, karaoke and massage services. Da Nang has gone through 27 days without local transmission and 25 days without new infection cases, VNA cited.

On the morning of September 25, flight number VN417 departed from Seoul - Korea. The flight will land at Noi Bai International Airport - Hanoi at noon on the same day.

This is the first commercial flight carrying passengers from abroad to Vietnam after 6 months of suspension because of COVID-19. Authorities designate Vietnam Airlines as the carrier to perform the first commercial flight.

Vietnam Airlines said that due to special requirements on procedures to respond to epidemics, tickets are not open for sale on its website but at the airline's official agent and ticket offices in Vietnam or South Korea.

Vietnam exports 850 million masks in eight months

Vietnamese businesses exported nearly 850 million medical masks in the first eight months of this year. In August alone, local enterprises shipped 135 million medical masks abroad, according to the General Department of Vietnam Customs.

The largest importers were Japan, the Republic of Korea, Germany and the US. In addition, masks were also exported to Hong Kong, Singapore, Poland, Australia, China, Laos and South Africa.

Masks have been a highlight of Vietnamese exports during the pandemic. Regarding the quality of export masks, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has warned exporters to learn carefully about the function of consulting and testing, especially when businesses want to issue certificates for export to the EU and US markets.
