Da Nang appreciates supports of SOS Children’s Villages International
(VNF) - Da Nang hopes the SOS Children’s Villages International will provide more assistance for underprivileged children in Da Nang city and the neighbouring province of Quang Nam.
Chairman of the city People’s Council Nguyen Xuan Anh made the remark at a reception for SOS Children’s Villages International delegation led by Mr. Helmut Kutin, its and Hermann Gmeiner (a German NGO) Honorary President in Da Nang city on February 16th.

He highly appreciated the achievements made by the SOS Children’s Villages International over the past years for Vietnamese underprivileged children and students; and its contribution to the Da Nang SOS Children’s Villages and the overall development of the local community.
Da Nang always focuses on providing positive environment to nurture and educate local children, especially the disadvantaged, he added.
Addressing at the meeting, Presidents Helmut Kutin extended his thank for the warm-welcome reception, as well as the supports received from the provincial authorities.
He also praised the achievements made by Da Nang over the past years and its contribution to the overall development of the local community, and affirmed that their organisation will closely work with the Vietnamese Government to implement more programmes in Vietnam in general and in Da Nang in particular.

Da Nang is one among 17 provinces in Vietnam which are under the sponsorship of SOS Children’s Villages International. Hermann Gmeiner’s projects including SOS children's village, Youth Facility, Hermann Gmeiner highschool, SOS kindergarten and SOS vocation training center, all are located in Da Nang, capital city of the province.
Since its operation in Da Nang 25 years ago, SOS Children’s Villages International has sponsored USD 11.2 million to help providing support, care and education for 850 orphaned children and thousands of students of Da Nang and Quang Nam province./.
