On February 24^th, the Da Nang city People’s Committee awarded and posthumously awarded the title of Vietnamese heroic mother to 183 women who had devoted themselves to national liberation as well as national construction and safeguarding.

Among 183 mothers, one is living and the others are dead.

According to the city People’s Committee, in realizing the Government’s decree dated May 22^nd, 2013 on granting the title of Vietnamese heroic mother, an additional 1,672 women in the city have been recognised as Vietnamese heroic mothers, bringing the total number of women getting the title to 3,116, including 265 living mothers.

Over the past years, there has been strong development of the movement to support the lives of Vietnamese heroic mothers in the city, with 100% of the mothers being assisted with VND1 million or more per month.

In addition, agencies have given presents, domestic facilities and built houses for the mothers, in an attempt to provide stable lives for living mothers./.
