With the theme “Stories by the Rivers”, the festival includes five nights of competitions in five different topics: Origin, Sprouts of Life, Love, Colors, and Offshore.

Each competing team will bring to DIFF 2019 stories of rivers - evidence of history, culture and flow connecting the sources of life of each country, told by fireworks, music, and art. Eight famous teams from around the world will compete, from Russia, Brazil, Belgium, Finland, Italy, the UK, China, and Vietnam.

DIFF 2019’s Director Do Thanh Hai told local media that the event will be elaborate, refined, and creative, through art and theater programs as well as fireworks. Art programs will feature leading Vietnamese artists, in particular the Sunshine Carnival art show at Sun World Ba Na Hills, with more than 200 local and international artists.

Other activities include a flashmob dance competition with the theme “youth wave” and street festivals on Bach Dang Street on the Sunday, with impressive art performances by domestic and foreign artists and food events.

Tickets are from VND300,000 to VND1.2 million ($13 to $52), VND2.5 million ($108) for the VIP section, and VND50,000 ($2) for children.

The Da Nang International Fireworks Festival has become a significant symbol of the tourism city for more than ten years, attracting millions of tourists every year. The number of visitors to Da Nang in 2018 increased 15.5 per cent on-year to an estimated 7.6 million, including 2.8 million foreigners, a 23.3 per cent increase from a year earlier, according to the Da Nang Department of Tourism.
