The Congress was attended by Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee Nguyen Dinh Vinh, Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, President of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations Phan Anh Son, along with representatives from foreign diplomatic agencies, city departments, sectors, and other organizations.

The theme of the Congress is "Friendship - Cooperation - Integration - Development: Strengthening the Role of People-to-People Diplomacy for the Development of Da Nang City."

The report presented at the Congress emphasized that, in the coming term, the Da Nang Union of Friendship Organizations will vigorously innovate both the content and methods of its activities to enhance the quality and effectiveness of its people-to-people diplomacy.

The Union will strengthen its core role alongside its member organizations, working closely with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city, departments, sectors, associations, and unions, as well as district-level People’s Committees, schools, enterprises, and international organizations to effectively promote Da Nang’s people-to-people diplomacy.

The Da Nang Union of Friendship Organizations will continue to consolidate and strengthen its organizational structure, mobilizing social organizations and various community sectors to actively participate in implementing the foreign policies of the Party and State. It aims to reinforce solidarity, friendship, and cooperation between the people of Da Nang and those of other countries while garnering broad international support and mobilizing international resources.

The Union will also encourage Da Nang’s citizens to actively participate in people-to-people diplomacy and the broader international struggle for peace, national independence, democracy, and social progress. This contribution will support the city's general foreign policies and help develop Da Nang as a prosperous, peaceful, civilized, and modern city.

The Da Nang Union of Friendship Organizations aims to organize over 40 friendship activities and cultural exchanges each year, including festivals, conferences, seminars, and international discussions. It also plans to establish one to two new bilateral friendship associations with potential partners for the city and more than ten new chapters, recruiting over 500 new members.

The Congress elected the Executive Committee for the 2024-2029 term, consisting of 46 members; the Standing Committee with 11 members; and the Inspection Committee with three members.

Nguyen Ngoc Binh was re-elected as President of the Da Nang Union of Friendship Organizations for the 2024-2029 term.

In his remarks at the Congress, Nguyen Dinh Vinh, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee, emphasized the importance of adhering to the foreign policy goals set forth in the 13th National Congress Resolution of the Party, the 136/2024/QH15 Resolution of the National Assembly, and the resolutions of the city’s Party Committee up to 2030, with a vision extending to 2045.

He urged the Da Nang Union of Friendship Organizations to strengthen its role as an international bridge, advancing cooperation and helping build Da Nang as a prosperous, civilized, and modern city.

President of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations Phan Anh Son, called on the Da Nang Union of Friendship Organizations to continue innovating in its approach and thinking to organize activities that are increasingly practical and meet the demands of the new era.

He also encouraged greater training and development of knowledge and skills in people-to-people diplomacy, while deepening international relations through meaningful friendship activities.

The Executive Committee of the Union of Friendship Organizations of Da Nang City for the 6th term (2024-2029) took a commemorative photo with the delegates.

On this occasion, the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations presented a commemorative flag to the Da Nang Friendship Union and awarded medals "For Peace and Friendship among Nations" to six individuals, certificates of merit to five collectives, and eight individuals. The Standing Committee of the Da Nang City Party Committee also awarded a banner with the message "Friendship - Cooperation - Integration - Development," while the Chairman of the City People’s Committee awarded certificates of merit to ten collectives in recognition of the Da Nang Union of Friendship Organizations’ contributions to the city’s people-to-people diplomacy efforts.
