The Da Nang Union of Friendship Organizations in coordination with the People's Committee of Son Tra district on September 11 organized a scholarship award ceremony of the Children of Vietnam (COV) and provided necessities to disadvantaged households in the district.

At the ceremony, the Da Nang Union of Friendship Organizations and the Children of Vietnam presented 50 scholarships, each worth VND 1 million (USD 40.72), to 50 poor students who have overcome difficulties in Son Tra, to encourage and motivate them to make more efforts in their studies, overcome difficulties to become useful citizens for society.
In addition, the Da Nang Friendship Union and Tam Bao Pagoda also presented 20 gifts of essential necessities to poor households, helping to reduce difficulties in daily life.
Speaking at the ceremony, Pham Huu Hoa, vice president of the Da Nang Union of Friendship Organizations, emphasized the role of the Da Nang Union in people-to-people diplomacy, solidarity, and cooperation between Danang and countries around the world.
Currently, the Da Nang Union of Friendship Organizations has established relations with more than 100 international organizations, embassies, consulates general, and many foreign non-governmental organizations. The main task of the friendship union is to mobilize and coordinate international aid, contributing to the city's socio-economic development.

Hoa hopes that these gifts and scholarships will help reduce difficulties for students and poor people in Son Tra district, and at the same time contribute to the implementation of local social security policies.
