Defense cooperation – a pillar in the Vietnam-Cuba relationship
Defense Minister, General Ngo Xuan Lich held a reception for Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam Lianys Torres Rivera on December 12 at the headquarters of the Ministry of National Defense.

Ambassador Lianys Torres Rivera affirmed that Cuba always highly appreciates the relationship with Vietnam and considers defense cooperation a pillar in the bilateral relationship. She confirmed to continue support Vietnam in its cause of development.
At the reception, General Ngo Xuan Lich congratulated Ambassador Lianys Torres Rivera on being appointed Cuban ambassador to Vietnam. He believed that the ambassador would best fulfill her duties during her term of office in Vietnam, contributing to improving the traditional relationship between the two Parties, Governments, armies and peoples.
He stressed that Vietnam would never forget the huge support which Cuba reserved for Vietnam over the past time. The Defense Minister also highly valued the results of the bilateral defense cooperation, particularly those achieved in 2017./.
