The Deputy PM made the statement at a congress of the association for the 2018-2023 tenure, which was held in Ho Chi Minh City on June 29th.

He also asserted that the Vietnamese Party and State always paid special attention to the OVs community abroad, including businesses and entrepreneurs, stressing that OVs are an indispensable part of the national community.

A number of policies, laws and documents have been promulgated to create more favourable conditions for Vietnamese expatriates to stabilise their lives, integrate into the social life of their host countries, and develop their businesses, he emphasised.

He expressed his hope that the BAOOV will continue connecting, supporting and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of OV businesses while serving as a bridge linking Vietnam with international friends and making further contributions to Vietnam’s socio-economic development.

Participants at the congress discussed and approved orientations for the next five years, which focus on boosting information exchanges between domestic and OV businesses, thus enhancing their partnership in trade, economics, science and technology.

They also elected a new 33-member executive board with Nguyen Thanh My, President of Mylan group, being named as its Chairman./.
