From April 14-19, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang led a Vietnamese delegation on an official friendship visit to the Republic of Cuba and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
Vietnam-Cuba and Vietnam-Venezuela relations are special relationships between peoples with similar histories, fighting for national liberation, and building socialism.
Although geographically far apart, Vietnam and the two Latin American countries share core values - the spirit of international solidarity, national independence, freedom and happiness of the people.
The relationship built through generations of leaders between Vietnam and Cuba and Venezuela has always been strengthened and developed, affirming its strategic importance in the current context.
Strengthening cooperative projects with Cuba
Coming to Cuba from April 14-16, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang met First Secretary, President of Cuba Miguel Diaz Canel Bermudez and Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz, worked with Politburo member, and Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla.
He attended the closing session and the signing ceremony of the Minutes of the 41st session of the Vietnam-Cuba Intergovernmental Committee. In addition, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang spent time visiting the Vietnamese Embassy in Cuba, and meeting the Vietnamese community in Cuba.
The two sides discussed measures to strengthen bilateral cooperation as well as issues of mutual concern. At the same time, the two sides reviewed bilateral cooperation projects, focused on exchanging measures to promote economic - trade and investment relations, improving the effectiveness of the Intergovernmental Committee mechanism of the two countries. as well as cooperation projects in many fields.
Cuba appreciated Vietnam's investment and business projects in the fields of trade, industrial park infrastructure, production of construction materials, essential goods, renewable energy and agricultural production, contributing to the stability and development of the Cuban economy.
Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang affirmed that the Vietnamese Government is determined to implement projects to support Cuba in increasing agricultural production.
He emphasized the importance of businesses and people of the two countries in implementing and promoting the effectiveness of bilateral cooperation projects.

The two sides agreed to continue to coordinate closely in implementing high-level agreements reached, further promoting the effectiveness of the Intergovernmental Committee mechanism to promote key cooperation projects, find mechanisms and measures to support Vietnamese businesses doing business and investing in Cuba.
Celebrating a special milestone with Venezuela
For Venezuela, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang's official friendly visit is more meaningful as it takes place in the context of the two countries celebrating the 35th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations (December 18, 1989 - December 18, 2024). Before that special milestone, the visit is an opportunity for the two countries to strengthen political trust, contributing to strengthening and deepening the comprehensive partnership, and multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and Venezuela.
On this occasion, the two sides plan to sign several new cooperation agreements in fields such as oil and gas, telecommunications, agriculture and construction.
The visit of Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang created a special mark in a year of great significance in bilateral relations. This is an opportunity to look back at the relationship from the past to the present and create a foundation for new developments, contributing to the development of each country, while strengthening the international position of both countries.
Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang's visit to Cuba and Venezuela continues high-level visits and contacts. It continues to implement the foreign policy of independence, autonomy, multilateralization, diversification, and comprehensive, and effective international integration of the 13th Party Congress.
This is also an affirmation of the Party and Government's consistent policy of deepening the special friendship, solidarity and comprehensive cooperation with the Party, Government, and people of Cuba and Venezuela.
With solidarity and continuous efforts from both sides, the good traditional friendship and comprehensive partnership between Vietnam-Cuba and Vietnam-Venezuela have been strengthened by generations of leaders and people of the two countries. There are many bright prospects for new achievements, contributing positively to the development of each country, for peace, happiness, stability and cooperation in the region and the world.
