Despite Covid-19, Vietnam Government reaffirms determination to overcome challenges

According to VGP News, addressing the Cabinet meeting Tuesday, the Government chief ordered every sector and level to roll out concrete and more drastic measures to ensure roboust economic recovery with an aim to realize the growth goals as highest as possible.
Regarding the COVID-19 epidemic, the Prime Minister said Vietnam had no new cases in the community for 48 days. Along with active disease prevention and control, Vietnam has directed the implementation of a very specific dual goal. The issue of social security has also been addressed. The faith of people and businesses in the Party and the State is increasing.
Vietnam's economy has recovered quite quickly and sharply in May compared to April. The Economist listed Viet Nam as the 12th strongest among 66 emerging economies in its report on financial strength in the wake of the COVID-19 fallout, which indicated the country’s rising prestige on the international arena.

The Prime Minister also noted that Vietnam still faces risks and challenges, of which the biggest risk and challenge is the COVID-19 pandemic that evolved complicatedly and unpredictably across the globe. Vietnam's growth is fairly good but generally not satisfactory. Industry dropped due to obstacles in the supply chain. Agriculture is facing difficulties due to the drought. Inflationary pressure still exists when the price of essential goods is still high. Disbursement of public investment has improved but is still slow, reported by Phap Luat.
The Prime Minister asked to drastically implement the support package including monetary, credit, fiscal packages, especially the security support package for over 20 million people. The Prime Minister asked localities to well implement the procedures with openness, transparency and clarity and suggested the local web portals as well as the Government, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs Portal made this issue public for people to monitor.
All levels and sectors were urged to implement the Government’s newly-issued Resolution No. 84/NQ-CP concerning tasks and solutions to continue removing difficulties for production and business activities, accelerating the disbursement of public investment, and ensuring social order and safety to maintain economic growth momentum.
Phuc also asked for accelerating digital economy, e-government and e-payment development and soon completing a legal framework for new tech-based business models.
