Three domestic carriers, Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air and Jetstar Pacific, have opened sales for tickets during the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday 2017.

Accordingly, the low-cost carrier Vietjet Air put on sale 1.5 million air tickets for domestic and international travel from January 10th to February 12th, 2017.

Ticket prices start from only VND390,000 (USD17) for the domestic routes of Ho Chi Minh city - Nha Trang/Phu Quoc/Da Lat/Buon Ma Thuot/Pleiku/Tuy Hoa. The routes Ho Chi Minh city - Quy Nhon/Chu Lai/Danang/Hue, Hanoi - Hue/Danang/Chu Lai, Danang - Hai Phong and Vinh - Buon Ma Thuot/Pleiku are priced from only VND480,000 (USD22).

Prices are from VND660,000 (USD30) for Ho Chi Minh city - Dong Hoi, Hanoi - Pleiku/Quy Nhon, Hai Phong - Buon Ma Thuot/Pleiku, and Da Lat -Vinh routes.

Tickets are priced from only VND900,000 (USD40) for Ho Chi Minh city - Hanoi/Hai Phong/Thanh Hoa/Vinh, Hanoi - Can Tho/Phu Quoc/Nha Trang/Da Lat/ Buon Ma Thuot/Tuy Hoa/Pleiku routes.

The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines also will add 1.5 million seats on all domestic routes to meet the increased demand for air travel and reduce airport overload during Tet holiday 2017.

These tickets will be applicable for flights departing from January 12th to February 12th, 2017.

A representative of Jetstar Pacific said the airlines has sold tickets for the holiday to meet passenger demand for early ticket purchase. From now to the end of the year, Jetstar will receive two additional aircrafts to provide services.

The carriers suggested that passengers buy tickets early to get better prices and avoid ticket scarcity./.
