The People’s Committee of the southern province of Dong Thap has recently issued a policy to support labourers who go to work abroad.

Accordingly, those in beneficiary, poor and nearly poor families will be given loans for 100% of the cost of labour export fees and healthcare checks from the Bank for Social Policies.

In addition, labourers will also be assisted with VND2 million for education in foreign language studies and orientation.

In the first quarter of 2015, Dong Thap province has sent nearly 200 labourers to work abroad, mainly to Japan. The labour export has contributed to realise the province’s sustainable poverty reduction program and ensure local social stability./.
