Education Cooperation Contributes to Connecting Vietnamese, American People
The Vietnam- US Culture Friendship Day opened in Hanoi on July 15 by the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations (HAUFO) in collaboration with the Hanoi's Vietnam-US Friendship Association.
The event aimed to mark the 28th anniversary of diplomatic relations and the 10th year of the comprehensive partnership between the two countries.

US Ambassador to Vietnam Marc Knapper valued the holding of the activity and affirmed that Vietnam and the US are closely cooperating in many fields.
Knapper shared that there are now more than 30,000 Vietnamese students and students studying in the US. Vietnam is the country with the 5th largest number of international students in the US in the world.
"We are also very satisfied with the cooperation relationship between educational institutions, schools in Hanoi and American localities. We hope to see more cooperation achievements,” the diplomat stressed.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Chairman of the Hanoi's Vietnam - US Friendship Association Dinh Hong Phong said that Hanoi always attaches importance to cooperation with US localities through meetings between leaders of cities, business forums, and exchanges.
HAUFO and Hanoi's Vietnam-US Friendship Association had many practical activities such as coordinating with the Central Vietnam - US Society to prepare the working program of Indiana University in Hanoi; welcomed teachers and students of George School to visit and learn about the culture, history, socio-economic development of Vietnam.
Phong, who is also deputy director of the Hanoi Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, believed that with the efforts of the Governments and peoples of the two countries and Hanoi, the multifaceted friendship cooperation between Vietnam and the US will continue to reap new achievements.

HAUFO Vice Chairman Nguyen Nam Hai said that with the core role in people-to-people diplomacy, HAUFO always proactively proposes to the city, and coordinates with departments, branches, districts, and mass organizations to organize peace, solidarity, and friendship activities with countries, including the US.
Hai hoped that the US Embassy in Vietnam as well as Ambassador Knapper would always pay attention, coordinate and support cooperation activities organized by HAUFO in the coming time.

At the Vietnam- US Culture Friendship Day, numerous activities were organized such as an exhibition and painting competition with the theme "Peace and Friendship"; a food festival; cultural and art festival with the theme of praising the love of the country and people of Vietnam, the friendship between Vietnam and the US; and books donation to support Community Book Library at Hanoi Book Street.
Participating in the festival, US Ambassador Knapper and many guests enjoyed musical performances by students and teachers, and saw vivid pictures showing friendship between the two countries and especially experiencing the traditional specialties of the capital.
