As part of the 23rd International Shoes & Leather Exhibition - Vietnam and the International Footwear & Leather Products Exhibition in Ho Chi Minh City, the Italy Trade Office in Vietnam in collaboration with the National Association of Italian Manufacturers of Footwear, Leather Goods, and Tanning Technologies (ASSOMAC) arranged a display area of the leather and footwear business community from Italy from July 12–14.

The Italian companies at the exhibition not only highlight a wide range of leather products and cutting-edge technology in the footwear sector, but they also strengthen business ties with companies from other participating nations, particularly Vietnamese firms.

Moreover, visitors to the exhibition are introduced to products like scrapers, cutters, presses, etc., as well as specialized chemicals in leather and footwear manufacturing technology. Vice President of the ASSOMAC Association Cristiano Paccagnella asserted that the technology used by Italian businesses in the leather industry is also exported to the world's top manufacturing nations, where the best leather products are produced.

Fabio De Cillis, Trade Commissioner at the Italy Trade Office in Vietnam, said as this year marks the 50th anniversary of Vietnam-Italy diplomatic ties, Italy wishes to make the most of this chance to make a lasting effect on the two sides' activities. The office previously hosted several trade and industrial promotion events throughout Vietnam, particularly in Ho Chi Minh City.

Later this year, it is planned to promote Vietnamese companies to participate in fairs and exhibitions in Italy and attract Italian companies to the International Processing, Packaging Exhibition, and Conference in Vietnam (ProPak Vietnam) and the Vietnam International Woodworking Industry Fair (VietnamWood).

According to the Vietnam Leather, Footwear and Handbag Association, the sector targets earning 27 billion USD from export this year, up around 10% annually.

The 23rd International Shoes and Leather Exhibition – Vietnam, incorporating the International Footwear and Leather Products Exhibition – Vietnam officially opened in Ho Chi Minh City on July 12. The events attracted the participation of hundreds of enterprises from many countries and territories around the world including Italy, Germany, Argentina, the Republic of Korea, Taiwan (China), and China.

The participants introduce many advanced shoe-making machines, leather goods machines, knitting machines, automation production lines, shoe materials, leather, synthetic leathers, chemicals, and accessories. This offers an opportunity for businesses, investors, and buyers to visit, promote trade connections, approach potential customers, and look for investment cooperation.
