Results have picked up for Everton since that defeat to Leeds a little under two months ago, with the Toffees collecting 17 points from the 27 on offer since then.
2-0 home loss to Newcastle United may have killed off the Toffees' momentum, but they still find themselves only six points behind the top four with two games in hand.
That defeat to an out-of-form Newcastle came on home soil, though away from Goodison Park they have won four of their last five in the league, including each of the last three.
Not since December 1985 have the Merseyside outfit won four top-flight away games in a row, but Elland Road is not a happy hunting ground for Everton.
Indeed, the Toffees have won only one of their last 37 top-flight away games against United - a 1-0 victory in November 2002 thanks to a Wayne Rooney goal.
Leeds enter this contest full of confidence, too, having won back-to-back league matches against Newcastle and high-flying Leicester City.
However, while Everton have looked impressive on their travels, Leeds have won just two of their last eight at home, most recently losing 1-0 to Brighton & Hove Albion.

Centre-back Diego Llorente is the only notable absentee for Leeds United, who are perhaps a bit weak in their defence given their lack of signings this summer. They have, however, signed Jack Harrison on a permanent deal and he would be looking to make the difference alongside Raphinha and Patrick Bamford in attack.
Leeds United predicted lineup formation: 4-2-1-3
GK: Ilan Meslier
RB: Luke Ayling
CB: Pascal Struijk
CB: Liam Cooper
LB: Junior Firpo
CDM: Kalvin Phillips
CM: Mateusz Klich
CAM: Rodrigo
RW: Raphinha
ST: Patrick Bamford
LW: Jack Harrison

Can Leeds do the double over Toffees?
Leeds upset the odds to topple the Toffees at Goodison Park back in November, though the evidence suggests Everton could well exact some revenge in Wednesday’s rematch at Elland Road.
Marcelo Bielsa’s marauding Yorkshiremen secured their third win in four assignments on the road with a superb 3-1 triumph at Leicester on Sunday powered by the performance of an inspired Patrick Bamford.
However, Leeds haven’t been quite as potent at home since their promotion, and having won just twice in eight games at Elland Road, they have the look of vulnerable hosts again this week.
Everton humbled by Magpies
Everton have had to endure some home discomforts themselves since the turn of the year, and the Toffees winless run at Goodison Park was extended to three games on Saturday when they were bested by Newcastle on Merseyside.
Two second half goals from Callum Wilson did the damage at the weekend on another day of disappointment for Carlo Ancelotti’s men in front of the empty Gwladys Street Stand.
However, the Blues have been singing a different tune on their travels, and Everton could use their counter-punching power to good effect again at Leeds.
Everton to exact some revenge
Leeds’ attack minded approach has caught many of their hosts off guard this season, and six of the Yorkshiremen’s nine Premier League wins this season have come in assignments away from Elland Road as a result.
Marcelo Bielsa’s men have found it difficult to replicate that successful formula at home however, and Leeds have failed to win six out of nine fixtures on their own patch since their promotion.
Like Leeds, Everton have found more joy on their jaunts than at home this term, and their record of four wins from their last five and six from nine games on the road overall this season suggests Carlo Ancelotti’s tactical blueprint is a hugely effective one in tests away from Merseyside.
Only Man Utd and Leicester have gathered more Premier League away points than Everton in 2020/21, and we think the Toffees are worth backing to add to their tally at Leeds on Wednesday.
Games involving Marcelo Bielsa’s free-spirited side rarely fail to deliver excitement, and our 2-1 correct score prediction tips Everton to come out on the right side of what promises to be a gripping encounter.
Everton vs Leeds United: Betting tips
Over 2.5 Goals
Leeds and Everton were both involved in high-scoring games last weekend and we're expecting the goals to flow once again on Saturday. Everton claimed a 2-1 win at Elland Road last season and three of their last five matches in all competitions have also featured at least three goals. All of Leeds' last five fixtures have produced over 2.5 goals and despite losing 5-1 at Man Utd, the Whites looked very good going forward.
BTTS
Both teams scored when these two sides last met and have done in three of their last four competitive encounters. Leeds have been struggling to keep clean sheets of late but look very going in the final third with four of their last five fixtures producing goals at both ends of the pitch. Everton have only failed t score in two of their last six matches and will fancy their chances against a leaky Leeds defence.
Everton Double Chance
Everton are the underdogs for this game yet we're backing the Toffees to come away with at least a point to show for their efforts. Everton won 2-1 at Elland Road last season and kicked-off the new season with a 3-1 win over Southampton, while Leeds lost 5-1 at Old Trafford.
