Exchange Tightens Friendship Between Dong Nai Youth, Lao Students
The Dong Nai Union of Provincial Friendship Organizations, the provincial Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association and the People's Committee of Vinh Cuu District on July 5 jointly organized an 2024 exchange festival between local students and youth and Lao students studying in the southern province.
The exchange festival between Dong Nai youth and Lao students pursuing higher education in Dong Nai is an event aiming to strengthen international exchange activities, improve cultural understanding between young people of Vietnam and Laos. This is also an opportunity for youths to exchange and learn about the Vietnam - Laos historical relations, contributing to cultivating solidarity and friendship between the two countries.

Attending the program were Phonesy Bounmixay, Consul General of Laos in Ho Chi Minh City; representatives of the Provincial Youth Union, Dong Nai Union of Friendship Organizations, Provincial Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association, Vinh Cuu district People's Committee and a large number of Dong Nai youth, as well as Lao students.
Speaking at the festival, Do Dang Tuoc, Chairman of the Dong Nai's Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association, emphasized that in 2009, the establishment of the association was an important turning point in the friendly relations between Dong Nai's people and Laotians.
Over the past 15 years, the association has continuously strived to consolidate and strengthen friendly relations through many diverse forms and activities. The association has developed over 40 chapters, 4 joint branches of wards and communes with nearly 2,000 members.
The association regularly popularizes the special friendship relationship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos to all walks of life, especially the younger generation.

Within the framework of the festival, students and youth heard the Lao Consul General and representative of the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations share about friendly relationships and solidarity between Vietnam and Laos in the past and present; along with people-to-people diplomacy.
Besides viewing the photo exhibition of the Vietnam - Laos friendship relationship, Dong Nai students and youth and Lao students can also participate in cultural exchanges and folk games.

On the same morning, the delegation came to offer incense and flowers to President Ho Chi Minh and the martyrs who heroically sacrificed their lives in War Zone D - an important revolutionary base in the Southeast during the two resistance wars against the French colonialists and the American imperialists.
