Exhibition on Vietnamese, Myanmar cultures, people helps promoting cultural exchange

On the 70th anniversary of the opening of the first Liason Office of Vietnam in Myanmar (1947) and the 42nd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Myanmar (May 28th, 1975-2017), the Embassy of Vietnam in Myanmar, with the cooperation of the Ministry for Religious Affairs and Culture of Myanmar, successfully held an art exhibition titled “Vietnam and Myanmar: Charm and Beauty” from May 23rd-25th in Myanmar Plaza, Yangon, Myanmar.

(VNF) - On the 70th anniversary of the opening of the first Liason Office of Vietnam in Myanmar (1947) and the 42nd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Myanmar (May 28th, 1975-2017), the Embassy of Vietnam in Myanmar, with the cooperation of the Ministry for Religious Affairs and Culture of Myanmar, successfully held an art exhibition titled “Vietnam and Myanmar: Charm and Beauty” from May 23rd-25th in Myanmar Plaza, Yangon, Myanmar.

With an aim to boost the development of bilateral relations and the exchange of people between Vietnam and Myanmar, the exhibition showcased 100 paintings and photographs of more than 30 artists from Vietnam and Myanmar, introducing the beauty of the both countries and peoples, the socio-economic development of both countries as well as the development of friendship and multi-faceted cooperation between Vietnam and Myanmar.

Especially, tens of artist from two countries had a friendly painting workshop within the framework of the exhibition.

Speaking at the opening ceremony on May 23rd, Vietnamese Ambassador to Myanmar Luan Thuy Duong hailed the continuing efforts of the two nations’ leaders and people to strengthen their relations in economics, politics, culture and social affairs.

Cultural diplomacy has become a crucial pillar in their external policy, helping connect the two sides’ people, she added.

Minister of Religious Affairs and Culture Aung Ko spoke highly of the organization of the exhibition, adding that Vietnam and Myanmar are closely cooperating within the ASEAN Charter framework and the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community (ASCC) Plan of Action./.
