Fashion show highlights Vietnam and New Zealand cultural ties
(VNF)- Forty alluring fashion designs featuring Vietnam and New Zealand’s shared identity were showcased in Ho Chi Minh City on August 6 as part of the first fashion collaboration project between the two countries.
The project, beginning in May this year, gathered 20 outstanding students from six famous universities and fashion schools in Vietnam and New Zealand.
Each of the Vietnamese designers was paired up with one of their colleagues from New Zealand, and each team worked together on the internet on unique designs accentuating the two countries’ cultural similarities.

The project was part of the activities initiated by the New Zealand Embassy in Vietnam to commemorate the 40th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties.
During the project launch in May, New Zealand Ambassador to Vietnam Haike Manning stressed that education and tourism were the foundation for the two countries’ mutual understanding.
He said the project is meant to provide youth with an opportunity to cooperate and create modern-looking, unique fashion styles and delve into the two countries’ cultural values and similarities./.
