(VNF) - The 19/12 street in Hoan Kiem district will officially become the first book street of the capital in December.

First Book Street in Hanoi to open

The Office of Hanoi city People’s Committee has released announcement 179/TB-VP on the implementation of Hanoi book festival 2016 and the book street project.

Accordingly, the inauguration of this book street will be held on December 19th, to celebrate the 70th anniversary of National Resistance Day.

The book street will be designed according to the style of the ancient quarter, with suitable urban scenery and cultural spaces, and areas for readers and activities such as book exchanges, seminars and book introductions.

The implementation of the book street will not only improve people’s reading culture, but also promise a cultural destination during great festivals of the nation./.
