First congress of the Vietnamese Women’s Association in Russia
First congress of the Vietnamese Women’s Association took place on October 17th at the Moscow Trade Centre in Russia.
In an opening speech at the meeting, Ms. Pham Thi Oanh, Head of the Vietnamese Women’s Association at the Moscow Trade Center, reviewed the operation of the association over the past year. The association successfully implemented set targets and the organization has been growing steadily in numbers over the year.
The Association has become a solid organization for Vietnamese women to maintain unity and help families who may be in difficult circumstances. With its 180 members, it has become a flagship of social activities for Vietnamese women in the Federation of Russia.
Over the past year, the association had organized education promotional activities, organized International Children's Day and mid-autumn festivals, actively participated in charitable activities to raise funds to support victims of Agent Orange and raised funds to support victims of the market fire in Kazan.
“Since establishment, the association has organized various activities. The women also consider it as a shelter to learn and help each other,” said Ms. Pham Thi Oanh.
The association will continue to support children in difficult circumstances in Russia and has plans to do charitable activities in Nam Dinh province and Ho Chi Minh city./.
