Fourth Cultural Festival of Ethnic Groups in Central Vietnam Closes in Binh Dinh

The 4th Central Ethnic Culture Festival 2023 took place in Binh Dinh province from September 8-10 with various activities.

Diverse cultural and sports activities took place during the fourth Cultural Festival of Ethnic Groups in Central Vietnam 2023 wrapped up in the South Central Coastal province of Binh Dinh on September 10, VOV reported.

The Central Ethnic Culture Festival 2023 serves as a platform to commemorate enduring traditional cultural values and safeguard and propel the cultural essence of the Central region's ethnic groups within the tapestry of Vietnam's diverse 54-ethnic community.

The festival plays a pivotal role in advancing Vietnamese culture and uniting its people, aligning with the nation's pursuit of sustainable development.

Over 800 artisans, athletes, and amateur performers of 11 teams attended the Festival, which featured various activities such as an art festival, a traditional national costume show, performances of local festivals and rituals, exhibitions of traditional culture, culinary showcases, sports activities and folk games and tourism activities.

Specifically, this was the first time a presentation about tourism has been included in the competition of the festival, with the participation of ethnic minority tour guides from 11 provinces. As such, ethnic minority tour guides were able to exchange and improve their skills.

The unique cultural beauty of each locality was also introduced on this occasion.

Ta Xuan Chanh, Director of the provincial Department of Culture and Sports, said that this is a very meaningful cultural exchange. All cultural activities shown at the festival in Binh Dinh demonstrate the spirit and cultural identity of the ethnic groups in the Central region. They demonstrate solidarity together to preserve the nation's cultural identity and the development of the central provinces.

At the closing ceremony, the organizing committee presented certificates of merit to individuals and groups who gained high achievements in cultural and sport activities as well as those who made great contributions to the success of the festival. In particular, five units with excellent achievements in sports competitions received victory flags, including Quang Nam province (the first flag), Binh Dinh (the second), Quang Ngai (the third), Ninh Thuan (consolation), and Thua Thien Hue (consolation).

The fifth Cultural Festival of Ethnic Groups in Central Vietnam in 2026 will be held in the central Khanh Hoa province.
