Free medical check-ups and surgeries for children born with facial deformities in Hanoi
(VNF) - Operation Smile Vietnam in partnership with the National Fund for Vietnamese Children and Vietnam - Cuba Friendship Hospital in Hanoi will provide free medical check-ups and surgeries for children born with facial deformities from May 9th-13th.

The mission targets to provide free medical services for patients in Hanoi and other localities at Vietnam - Cuba Friendship Hospital, No 37 Hai Ba Trung street, Hoan Kiem district, on May 9th for screening and medical testing; and from May 10th-13th for operations.

Around 80-100 patients are expected to be screened and treated.

The mission will be sponsored by MobiFone - who has supported Operation Smile for seven years with the hope of bringing new smiles for underprivileged Vietnamese children and helping them live lives of acceptance and love.

In the last 27 years, this non-profit organization which is specialized in provision of free reconstructive surgeries for children born with cleft lips, cleft palates and other facial deformities in less developed and developing countries, has been providing safe surgeries for more than 39,000 Vietnamese children. However, as there are about 3,000 children born with cleft lip and/or palate every year, there are still so many children who need our help.

In April 2016 alone, Operation Smile successfully provided more than 200 children suffering from cleft lips and/or cleft palates from northern and central provinces of Vietnam./.
