The Vietnamese Embassy in Romania and the National University of Music Bucharest jointly staged a concert to promote the cultural and educational cooperations between Vietnam and Romania, reported TGVN Wednesday.

The concert was attended by more than 150 guests, including heads of representative missions and foreign diplomats, representatives of a number of Romanian ministries and Romanian partners, officials and employees of the Vietnamese Embassy and representatives of the Vietnamese community in Romania.

Vietnamese students who are studying music in Romania gave performances in the programme. The show that lasted for about an hour comprised pieces with international influences as well as unique folk tunes of Romania and Vietnam such as Beo dat may troi (Water-ferns drift, clouds float) and Trong com (The rice drum).

The event, overflowing with warm applause from the audience at each performance, contributed to spreading special and unforgettable emotions in each person's heart.

The concert acts as a bond of friendship in the field of cultural diplomacy and educational diplomacy between Vietnam and Romania.

Addressing the event, Ambassador Dang Tran Phong reviewed the positive development of the traditional relationship between Vietnam and Romania, including bilateral cooperation in the fields of culture and education.

He thanked the Romanian Government for its support in the training of Vietnamese students and researchers over the years, noting that many of the alumni have succeeded in their careers and made practical contributions to national development.

The diplomat also thanked the National University of Music Bucharest for helping train many musical talents of Vietnam over the years.

Constantin Neacsu, Doctor of Law and lecturer, wrote a letter of thanks for being invited to the event. In his letter, he said the event is an unforgettable musical evening, bringing about many emotions to the audience. He's heard a lot about Vietnam, but last night he understood why Vietnam is so special.

That is also the common feeling of many guests of the Romanian diplomatic mission and friends.

In Ho Chi Minh City, a friendship concert is scheduled to take place on May 28 to mark the 27th anniversary of Vietnam-US diplomatic ties, reported VOV.

The concert will be led by Japanese conductor Honna Tetsuji and will witness the participation of pianist Vincent Adragna and violinist Chuong Vu who is the concert-master of the San Angelo Symphony Orchestra in Texas.

The event is jointly organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Ballet, Symphony Orchestra and Opera (HBSO) and the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations (HUFO), the city's Vietnam-US Friendship Association.

Previous, on May 19, a piano recital by world-renowned Hungarian pianist Ernő Fehér took place in HCM City, luring more than 350 people, including the participation of representatives of the city's Union of Friendship Organizations and the Consular Corps.

The event was co-hosted by the Consulate General of Hungary in HCMC and the HCMC Conservatory of Music.
