The 7th Hanoi-Fukuoka Cultural and Educational Exchange Program in 2024 takes place in Hanoi from August 3rd to 9th. During this event, students from both cities will engage in cultural, educational, and historical exchanges. 49 students from Fukuoka Prefecture in Japan will participate in a three-day homestay program with the families of 49 Vietnamese students from several Hanoi high schools, including Viet Duc High School, Phan Dinh Phung High School, Tran Phu High School, Newton Middle and High School, and Phenikaa Middle and High School.
Students will also engage in various sports activities at school, explore Hanoi's culinary culture, and visit the capital's renowned landscapes and historical landmarks.
Tran The Cuong, Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, stated that the Hanoi-Fukuoka cultural and educational exchange program is a significant event to enhance the cooperation between the Hanoi Department of Education and Training and the Fukuoka Private Education Association in Japan.
The program also serves to implement the city People's Committee's policy of bolstering the friendly cooperative relationship between Hanoi and Fukuoka, in line with the Memorandum of Understanding for enhanced cooperation signed by the Hanoi People's Committee and the Fukuoka authority on January 23, 2024.
Acknowledging the cultural and educational exchanges between Hanoi and Fukuoka in recent years, the Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training expresses hope that the event will enable students from both cities to share experiences and learn from one another.
Tomoyuki Mizoguchi, leader of the Fukuoka teachers and students delegation, stated: "Japanese students will receive a warm welcome and care from Vietnamese schools and families. This type of learning will undoubtedly aid in the mutual understanding of our cultures."
Tomoyuki Mizoguchi has also conveyed his desire for strong collaboration with the Hanoi Department of Education and Training. He mentioned that teachers from Fukuoka will be visiting schools to engage in exchange activities with students and to gain deeper insights into Vietnam's educational practices.
