Vietnam continues to prove to be a destination in demand for peak tourism in late 2023 - early 2024. According to the latest information, Hanoi and Hoi An are once again among the top vacation destinations most sought after by tourists.

Hanoi became the sole Vietnamese representative to feature in the top 100 best cities in the world in 2024, with the Vietnamese capital ranked 90th overall, according to the latest ranking released by newswire World's Best Cities.

Vietnam’s total revenue from tourists is estimated at 582.6 trillion VND (23.7 billion USD) in the first ten months of 2023.

Experts say although Hanoi is not as expansive or bustling as Ho Chi Minh City, the city offers a plethora of activities and attractions, ranging from urban landmarks, chaotic markets for bargain hunters, awe-inspiring heritage structures like the Imperial Citadel — a UNESCO World Heritage site — and a vibrant nightlife that possesses its own charm.

Most notably, Vietnam is highly rated in the "Livability" category at 61st and in the “Prosperity” category at 184th.

Furthermore, the Vietnamese economy has proven its resilience amid challenges in the global economy with its economic growth projected at 4.7% in the second half of the year.

Moreover, the Hanoi hospitality sector is expected to boom, with an additional 60 new projects anticipated to generate more than 11,000 hotel rooms. Out of these, 61% are five-star hotels, thereby making the city ready to host the world and attract more business travel.

London ranked first on the list as the UK city topped both the overall “Livability” and “Lovability” categories.

A total of 20 Asian cities featured in the top 100, of which Japan and China had the most representatives with such popular destinations as Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya; along with Saporro, Beijing, Taiwan (China), Hong Kong (China), and Shanghai.

The Republic of Korea has two cities on the list - Seoul and Busan. Some of the remaining Asian cities are located in the UAE, Israel, Oman, Kuwait, and Thailand.

According to TripAdvisor, Vietnam is once again praised in the list of "Top 10 fastest growing international destinations", continuing to demonstrate its strong appeal among the most popular 2023 winter vacation destinations.

There are two famous destinations in Vietnam - Hoi An (ranked 6th), followed by Hanoi (ranked 7th), TripAdvisor praises Vietnam's more than 1,000-year-old capital, Hanoi, captivates visitors with efforts to preserve the old town and its French colonial relics and architecture, in parallel with modern development. Lake landscapes, parks, tree-lined streets, and hundreds of communal houses and pagodas add to the appeal of tourists coming to explore the city.

Meanwhile, a town on Vietnam's central coast, Hoi An is a well-preserved example of an important 15th- to 19th-century trading port in Southeast Asia. Originally a very popular destination for backpackers, Hoi An is increasingly famous for its attractive attractions. Among them are sacred pagodas, the most famous being the Cau Pagoda heritage, and the landscape of Hoi An at full moon night shimmering in lantern light, TripAdvisor writes.

Among the top destinations in Asia, the vibrant city of Da Nang has emerged as the sole representative of the country, making it a standout choice for travelers seeking an unforgettable experience.
