Hanoi Hosts Vietnam - China Young Coast Guard Officers Exchange Program
The program will take place from August 22-24. The goal is to cultivate and develop the good relations between the Vietnam Coast Guard (VCG) and the China Coast Guard (CCG) through the exchange between young officers of the two forces.
Within the framework of the exchange program, the young officers of the two sides will take part in various activities, including visiting President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, paying a courtesy call to leaders of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, and going on a tour of Hanoi (Photo: VNA). |
Speaking at the opening ceremony in Hanoi on August 22, Deputy Political Commissar and Head of the Department of Politics of VCG, Major General Tran Van Xuan reaffirmed that the coast guards of the two countries have united and coordinated together to implement many practical and effective cooperation activities over the past years. Cooperation between the VCG and CCG is a bright spot in the collaboration in law enforcement at sea among regional countries.
This program will help to build trust between the two forces and contribute to jointly maintaining security, order, safety, and law observance in the territorial waters between the two countries.

Colonel Gan Yu, Head of the CCG delegation, believed that the program would allow officers from both sides to understand and learn from each other, thereby inheriting the tradition of friendship and fraternity and contributing to the maintenance of peace at sea in the region.

With the theme "Together to protect the marine environment", the activities include visiting President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum and joining a tour to explore Hanoi - Vietnam's capital. Participants will visit the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, the Commander of the Vietnam Coast Guard. During their visit to the Coast Guard Region Command 1 and Coast Guard Region Command 11, the young officers will join the exchange activities like football matches, and planting trees. They will also join marine environmental protection activities in Lap Le fishing village in Hai Phong city's Thuy Nguyen district.
The highlight of the four-day exchange program will be a gala night themed "Joining hands to protect the marine environment". Highlighting the important role of law enforcement at sea in Vietnam - China bilateral cooperation, the gala night will feature special art performances and an eloquence contest.
